This honey is produced through the extraction process, when we melt the wax cappings down into raw beeswax blocks in our wax melter. During this process, the honey is heated to around 70 degrees which gives it a bold caramel flavour, making it perfect for baking!

Honey is much sweeter than sugar, so if using it for baking, substitute 1 cup of sugar for 2/3 cups of honey. The moisture content of the honey makes beautiful moist cakes! It is also a healthier alternative. 

Out of our full honey range, this is the only honey that is heated. Our Bakers honey is a combination of all of our honeys,

Perfect!

The bakers honey is amazing and very versatile as others have commented below. Works great as a substitute for sugar in apple crumble! Great service from the Hives Manawatu team too. Thanks guys!

Bakers Honey Extraordinaire

I've received my 1kg jar of Bakers Honey and find it incredibly versatile. I've used some in place of golden syrup in ANZAC biscuits, drizzle on fresh fruit and roast, in hot chocolate drinks, with fresh lemon and ginger as a hot drink. Fabulous product. Highly recommend.

Deep rich flavour

A beautiful dark rich tasting honey. Absolutely delicious in sweet and savoury dishes and even great in a cup of tea.
